William L. Weaver (Bill), age 71, of Hayesville, passed away November 25 at LSS The Good Shepherd Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Bill was born on November 21, 1949 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Earl and Mary (Stone) Weaver. Bill graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1967. He was employed at A. L. Garber Co in Ashland for 31 years, worked road construction and also farmed for most of his life. Bill is a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Company H Rangers 75th Infantry 1st Cavalry Division where he earned several medals, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Bill was very hardworking, enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by two daughters Penny (Jason) Brown of Hamilton and Kelly (Brian) Walter of Ashland; 1 grandson Noah Brown of Hamilton; brothers Robert (Roberta) Weaver of Ashland and Richard (Ruth) Weaver of Loudonville and half sister Betty (Weaver) Steigerwalt of Ashland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Thursday December 3, 2020 at 10:30 AM where the Ashland Honor Guard will conduct military rites.
There will be no calling hours.
Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
