Vernon Junior Iceman, 90 of Jeromesville passed away Friday July 10, 2020 at his residence. He was
born February 4, 1930 in Jeromesville the son of Vernon and Iva Garn Iceman. He was married to
Betty Landis on May 28, 1967. He was a member of the Jeromesville United Methodist Church,
B.P.O.E. 1360 Elks, for over 60 years and the Jeromesville American Legion. He worked as an offset
pressmen for A.L. Garber Co. and drove school bus for Hillsdale Local Schools for 14 years. Vern was
a life time member of the yesteryear club and at one time had 11 John Deere antique tractors. He went
to full time farming in 1983. He loved farming, working with cattle and had John Deere tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Jeromesville, two children, Greg of Warsaw and Cherris of
Jeromesville, three grandchildren, Candis (Jessie) Thorton of Nashport, OH, Cody Iceman and
Brittney Iceman both of Warsaw, and one great granddaughter, Athena Thorton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Reletha Hoverstock.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday July 14, 2020 at Jeromesville Cemetery with Rev. Sue
Chidley officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
