Richard "Dick" Barr

Richard Kenneth Barr, lovingly known as "Uncle Dick" passed away at the age of 97.5 years old. 

He was born on August 27, 1928, on a farm on Mount Zion Road in Lucas, Ohio.  

He was the youngest of 8 children born to Ralph E. Barr and Gladys Maud (Aby) Barr.  

He was raised in the Lutheran faith, which helped shape his values and character throughout his life.,

He proudly served his country in WWII in the Air Force, and he was stationed in England.

He has been a longtime resident of Crystal Care of Ashland, where he received compassionate care. 

Richard was proceeded in death by his parents and his 7 siblings:  La Doris Schumacher, Mabel Jones

(Leonard), Marjorie Shingleton (Clyde), Miriam Barr, Bryron Barr, Mervin Charles Barr (Mafalda) and

Rollin Barr (Mary).

He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by many nieces and nephews including:

Cynthia Barr Calender (Robert) of Westerville, OH, Denny Davidson of Mansfield, OH, Tom Barr,

Mark Barr (Jennifer), and Tim Barr (Terri), of Westerville, OH and Powell, OH.

Services will be 11:30 AM Saturday February 21, 2026 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with

Pastor Layton Broome officiating. The Ashland Color Guard will conduct military rites.

Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery 4065 Mt. Zion Road, Lucas, OH.
