Nancy Eldora Starlin, 86 of Wooster passed away Sunday September 10, 2023 at West View Manor in Wooster. Eldora could work like a horse, sing like an angel, laugh like a fool and hit a softball into next week. She could also dish out a big heap of ornery to anyone in her life both friends and strangers. Loved by all, she will be missed.
Nancy Eldora (Sigler) Starlin was born in Morral, Ohio. At 9 months of age, she was adopted by Glenn and Nancy Sigler of Jeromesville. She was their only child and their pride and joy.
Eldora was a proud graduate of Jeromesville High School. She met James Starlin at Wooster Business College and they were married on February 10, 1955. They were married 54 years when Jim passed in 2009. They raised their family in New Pittsburg where they were dedicated community members.
Eldora's first job was at the Scenic Ridge Fruit Farm, then she went to work at the Jeromesville Post Office. She enjoyed 25 years of delivering mail on her rural route. She was active in the New Pittsburg United Methodist Church and Lions Club, mowing the park with Jim and helping with events.
Eldora shared a love of horses with her daughter, Cindy. She also shared a love of sports with her son, Brad. She loved and cherished her grandchildren. Always on the go, with the reputation of being exceptionally prompt, she and Jim seldom missed a ball game or extracurricular activity.
At the age of 76, Eldora was reunited with her surviving birth siblings and their respective families in 2013. She enjoyed and treasured sharing her life experiences with her sister, Anna Lee Franer of Miamisburg, Ohio and Dick Wright of Aubrey, Texas. All of her 5 siblings are deceased.
She is survived by her children, Cindy (Phil) Haskins and Brad (Beth) Starlin, her grandchildren Shawn (Natalie) Starlin, Justin (Danielle) Starlin and Jordan Starlin, great grandchildren Crosby, Nevan and Shaydan Starlin and very special friends, Shirley Bauman, Zana Boals and Roger & Charolet Hostettler and Phyllis Spencer.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Friday September 15, 2023 at Jeromesville Cemetery with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating.
Memorial contributions can be sent to Southern Care Hospice, 2291 W. 4th St., Ontario, OH 44906.
