Micheal Dennis Obrecht, 77 of Jeromesville passed away Saturday January 28, 2023 at OhioHealth

Mansfield Hospital. He was born July 25, 1945 in Ashland County the son of Guy and Marilyn Rogers

Obrecht. He was a 1963 graduate of Jeromesville High School, a 1968 graduate of Ohio State

University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree and received his Master’s

Degree from Ashland University in 1988. Mike was a teacher at Triway High School, retiring in 2001

and also farmed. In 1999 he received the Ashland County Soil and Water Conservation Award and in

2013 he received the American Farmer’s Grow Community Award. He had served as a Mohican

Twp. Trustees and as a member of the Farm Bureau Council. Mike loved dogs, especially golden

retrievers, rescuing 16 dogs over the years, most being golden retrievers.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Brookover Obrecht, to whom he was married June 21, 1968, a

daughter, Michele (Joe) Hilleary of Grove City, 3 grandchildren, Josh, Derrick and Drake Hilleary,

2 great granddaughters, Aubrey and Avery Hilleary and a brother, Joel (Teresa Fedor) Obrecht of

Bowling Green, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Steve Obrecht and a sister-in-law, Cindy Obrecht.

Memorial services will be 12:00 PM Saturday February 4, 2023 at Fickes Funeral Home in

Jeromesville with Joel Obrecht officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Saturday February 4, 2023 at the funeral home.
