Mary Alice (Steward) Funk

Mary Alice Steward Funk, 82 of Ashland passed away Sunday September 8, 2024 at UH Samaritan

Medical Center. She was born March 18, 1942 in Ashland the daughter of Howard and Mary Lois

Sours Steward. She was a 1960 graduate of Ashland High School and worked as a Deputy Auditor at

the Ashland County Courthouse. Mary was a member of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren and

was a 4-H advisor, where she enjoyed helping her children with their Horse and Sheep shows. She was

also an avid bowler and a member of the Short Horn Cattle Association.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Funk, to whom she was married August 25, 1965, her daughter,

Beth Funk of the home, two sons, Howard (Marie) Funk of Orrville and Mark Funk of Ashland, 4

grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Poling, Dean (Kelsi) Funk, Benjamin (Jacqueline) Funk and Samantha

Funk, and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Matthew Funk, a great granddaughter and a

sister, Patricia Hiller.

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday September 13, 2024 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with

Pastor Steve Keib officiating. Burial will be in Lake Fork Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday September 12, 2024 from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.
