Marjorie (Margie) (Dolby) Swope

Margie Swope, a devoted mother who loved her children and family very much, and a 1961 graduate of Polk High School, passed away on September 12th, 2025.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy, Patty, and Claire, her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nathan, Tasha Callahan, Kyle, Austin, Peyton Carey, Trent Carey, Brett Poindexter, and CJ Leisure, 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Yogi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and May Dolby, younger siblings Steve Dolby and Kathy Stewart, her nephew Michael Stewart, her first husband, Donald Eugene Carey, and her second husband, Willard Swope, and her dear dog, Max.

Margie cherished simple joys, including watching squirrels and robins, playing cards with friends and family, especially her best friend Phyllis Miller, cooking, trying new recipes, and sharing meals with loved ones. She also enjoyed music, dancing, and laughter, which brought her great joy. As a dedicated sports fan, Margie was known for her unwavering support of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. For many years, she was a faithful member of Red Hall Church.

Funeral services for Margie will be 12:00 PM on Tuesday September 23, 2025 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville, Ohio with Pastor Tom Miller officiating. Visiting hours are from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday before the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held immediately after in Jeromesville Cemetery.

A dinner reception will be held at Margie's home, 145 Ronald Avenue, Ashland, Ohio, and all are welcome to attend.
