L. Max Hardesty Hinton

L. Max Hardesty Hinton, 86 of Wooster passed away Saturday April 20, 2024 at his residence. He was born June 16, 1937 in Marietta, OH the son of Pearly and Bernice Hardesty Hinton. Max was the owner of Hinton’s Body Shop in New Pittsburg and was a member of the New Pittsburg Fire Department and New Pittsburg Lions Club.

He is survived by a son, Jimmy (Janice) Hinton of Winter Springs, Florida, two daughters, Mary J. (Russell) Anderson of Chandler, AZ and Tamela Swank of Wooster, 10 grandchildren, Aaron (Pepper) Swartzentruber of Ashland, Laura (Vincent) Rogers of Akron, Christopher (Julia) Anderson of Mesa, AZ, Jennifer (Robert) Wilson of Gilbert, AZ, James (Chrissy) Hinton of Orlando, FL, Cory Hinton of South Carolina, Tiffany Hinton of West Virginia, Kendra Long of Wooster, Benjamin (Dawn) Barker of Wooster and Candace (Jason) Deffendall of Wooster, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, a brother, Sam Hinton of Wooster, a sister, June Vermillion of Ashland and his dog, Buddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bonnie Norman Hinton on March 23, 2013, a daughter, Barbara Barker on April 5, 2010, a grandson, Gary Hinton, and three brothers, William, Gene and Jerry Hinton.

Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday April 25, 2024 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Vonn Miller officiating. Burial will follow in New Pittsburg Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday April 24, 2024 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home or 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.
