Kristaphor E. Hootman

Kristaphor E. Hootman 44, passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2021. Kris is survived by his parents Shelley J. Wolf Hootman and Floyd “Eugene” (fiancé Laurie A. Monroe) Hootman.

Kris was born in Ashland Ohio on July 26th, 1977. At a young age Kris was diagnosed with Quadriplegic Spastic Cerebral Palsy and was given a life expectancy of 10 years. In true Kris fashion he beat the odds by 34 years!
Kristaphor enjoyed going for rides, fishing, sneaking ice cream and cake, as well as jamming out to country music. Most of all Kris enjoyed being a part of whatever was happening around him; if he felt ignored he would give a loud holler to get everyone’s attention. Kris attended Dale Roy school until transferring to New Hope where he graduated June 6th 1997.

Along with his parents, Kris is survived by his favorite grandma Betty L. Hootman. His sisters and brothers in-law Micki(Lloyd) Thompson, Chan(Jason) Garber, and Megan(Jamie) Stull. Nieces and Nephews Bailey Kissinger, Justice Garber, Logan(Justin) Ziegler, Liberty Garber, Ethan Garber, Brook Lynn Easterday, Hayden Thompson, Colton and Easton Stull.  He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  Over the years Kristaphor had many phenomenal caregivers and Nurses who cared for him, there were very few that Kris found fault with. From the bottom of our hearts Thank you so much for taking care of our special little dude! 

Kris is preceded in death by his grandparents Floyd C. Hootman, Nancy & John Schaffer, Ronnie & Karen Wolf and cousin Joshua A. Wolf.
There will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE on Sunday November 7, 2021 from 1pm-4pm at the Loudonville American Legion. Come join us for food, fellowship and of course cake and ice cream to remember Kris in this life and celebrate Kris’s new found freedom with Jesus.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributes can be made to Fickes Funeral home to help defray the cost of Kristaphor’s cremation.
