Kenneth (Kenny) Wayne Derr, 71 of Ashland passed away on Thursday September 12, 2024 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Born on March 26, 1953 in Ashland, he was the son of Robert and Edna (Imhoff) Derr Sr. He was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1971.Kenny established Derr's Painting in 2000 where he worked daily with his family. Kenny was a longtime member of 5 Stones Community Church and was currently attending Bethel Baptist Churchin Savannah. Kenny was an avid motorcyclist and gun enthusiast, but his greatest passion was people. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. His infectious laughter and warm personality made him a cherished friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Lana Satterfield Derr, to whom he was married May 25, 1996, and his four children, Jamie (Brian) Pummell of Olivesburg, Jeremy Derr of Mansfield, Josh (Tera) Derr of Bailey Lakes, Jennifer (Amanda) Derr of Ashland, two step-children, Bridget (Robert) Williams of Ashland and Jeffrey (Kathy) Ritz of Ashland, his four grandchildren, Chelsey (Sam) Thompson, Melissa (Blake) Pickering, Alyssa Derr, Brandon Derr, six great grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, 12 step-great grandchildren. A brother, Robert (Laura) Derr Jr. of Loudonville and a sister, Lucille Restllie of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Daniel Derr.
Friends may call from 1- 3 PM or 6-8 PM on Wednesday September 18, 2024 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville. A memorial service for family and close friends will be 1:00 PM Friday September 20, 2024 at Mohican Church 7759 North Elyria Road West Salem, OH with Dr. John Shultz officiating. Burial will be in the Mohican Church Cemetery immediately following the memorial service. Kenny loved the revitalization occurring in his home town of Ashland.
