Karl Leo Hines Jr., 78 of Polk passed away Tuesday July 16, 2019
at UH Samaritan Medical Center. He was born April 26, 1941
“AD” in Lodi the son of Karl Leo and Opal Virginia Messmore
Hines Sr.
He was a 1959 graduate of Polk High School and specialized in
farm drainage, known as the “Ditch Doctor.” Karl was an avid
Harley man, a hard worker and a lifetime member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Rosanne DiMaggio Hines, to whom
he was married August 11, 1964, three children, Karla (Joel) Kirtland-Schweyer of Ashland,
Michael A. (Gayle) Hines of Mansfield and Paula (Phil) Miller of Millersburg, eight grandchildren,
Jessica Schweyer, Kayla Kirtland, Brent Schweyer and James Kirtland III, Ashley Hines, Jacob Hines,
Lauryn (Mike) Kirkpatrick and Wyatt Miller, two great-grandchildren, Aiden James and Leo Philip
Kirkpatrick, and a sister, Karen (Bob) Coffman of Hayesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Hines.
Services will be 11:00 AM Monday July 22, 2019 at Truth Baptist Church 12457 North Elyria Road
West Salem, OH with Pastor Brad Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Polk Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9-11 AM Monday before the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Truth Baptist Church Missions Fund.
