Karen Lynn (Von Kamp) Light, 68 of Ashland passed away Saturday December 25, 2021 at her

residence. She was born September 29, 1953 in New London the daughter of Willard and Lois Ann

Twining Von Kamp. She was a 1971 graduate of New London High School. She worked as a Home

Health Care Nurse and was a member of the First Christian Church in Ashland. Karen had also worked

at the Fannie Farmer in Norwalk and at Willo’dell Nursery.

She is survived by her husband, Stewart Light, to whom she was married October 25, 2002, two sons,

Kevin (Megan) Hughes of Mansfield, and Scott Hughes of Ashland, a step-son, Shane (Kendra) Light

of Ashland, a step-daughter, Tara (Kris) Mowry of Ashland, 2 grandsons, Waylon Hughes and Bryant

Hughes, four step-grandchildren, Morghan (Derek) Farver, Brycen Light, Kamden Mowry and Maycen

Mowry, a great grandson, Hudson Farver, two brothers, William (Jan) Von Kamp of Huron and Robert

(Rita) Von Kamp of Collins and a sister, Beth Von Kamp of Wakeman.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday December 30, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Ashland with

Pastor Rich Pate officiating. Burial will be in Rowsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9-11 AM on Thursday at the church before the service.

A luncheon will follow after the graveside service at the church.
