Obituary

Karen Rae (Austin) Freelon, 80 of Jeromesville passed away Sunday December 25, 2022 at the

Avenues in Wooster. She was born January 7, 1942 in Ashland County the daughter of Paul and

Cordelia Moore Austin. She was a 1961 graduate of Jeromesville High School and worked for Wayne

County Soil and Water. Karen was a member of the Jeromesville Christian Church, where she played

the organ and piano for over 50 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Kassie (Bob) Poynter of Jeromesville, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-

grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Freelon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Freelon, a son, James Freelon and a

brother, Gene Austin.

Services will be 11:00 AM Friday December 30, 2022 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with

John Damron officiating. Burial will be in Jeromesville Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday December 29, 2022 from 5-7 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeromesville Christian Church 75 West Main Street

Ashland, OH 44805.
