John C. Slater, 83 of Jeromesville passed away Thursday October 1, 2020 at The Arbors in Mansfield.

He was born May 11, 1937, in Lodi, Ohio the son of Urlin and Blanche Feazel Slater.

He was a truck driver, carpenter, plumber, a man of many talents but farming was his passion. His

wife, son, daughter and grandchildren were the love of his life. When he spoke of his love for Ann,

John said “bushels, barrels, buckets and tubs, that’s how much I love you.”

John was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Elizabeth Bowie and a daughter-in-law, Deb Slater.

John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Ann Bone Slater, son, Jeffrey

Slater, daughter, Jenny Slater (Barb Steiner), grandchildren, Hanna (Stephanie) Slater, Taylor Slater,

great granddaughter, Madison, brother, James (Shirley) Slater, many nieces and nephews and family

friend, Joni Hite.

Friends may call Tuesday October 6, 2020, from 5-7 pm at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville.
