ASHLAND, OHIO – John “Bink” Rogers, 80, passed away at OhioHealth Mansfield, Ohio, following a long illness, with his family by his side.
John was born on March 5, 1945, at Samaritan Hospital, the son of John and Doris (Roller) Rogers. John was a lifelong resident of Ashland and retired from Tremco after more than 25 years as a mechanical maintenance technician. He proudly served in the military from July 1965 to 1968.
He married the love of his life, Cindy Emmons, on April 3, 1980, who survives him. He is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, John and Stacey Cole of Cinnamon Lake, Ohio; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Sarah and Joshua Nagy; two great-grandchildren, Adaline and Eloise Nagy of Powell, Ohio; two sisters, Pat (Joe) Honaker and Janice Fridline of Ashland, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; and Jarrod Hower of Arizona, a loyal friend who was like a son to him. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Daniel and William; and two sisters, Linda Hardy and Mary Ellen Rogers.
John was deeply devoted to his family. He cherished spending time with them, especially during vacations at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He loved fishing and, at one time, was an avid game hunter. John and Cindy enjoyed riding his Harley, boating, and camping at Pleasant Hill Lake. He truly lived life to the fullest.
John was a faithful member of Grace Church in Ashland for many years.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Fickes Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., with visiting hours beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Norm Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Jeromesville Cemetery, Jeromesville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to Grace Church, West Main Street, Ashland, Ohio.
