Janet Darlene Shopbell

Janet Darlene (Seibert) Shopbell, 85, of Ashland, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Brethren Care.  She was born April 9, 1935, the daughter of Bruce and Edna Wertz Seibert.  She attended Ashland Brethren in Christ Church and thoroughly enjoyed Paster Keith Tyson's sermons and his visits with her while she resided at Brethren Care. 
Janet worked in the office at Faultless following graduation. After the birth of her cherished daughter. she became a full-time homemaker.  She loved her family and her Lord. She read through the entire Bible many times and enjoyed bowling and embroidery.  Janet was a kind, gentle, and loving soul who never missed an opportunity to send a card for any occasion and let someone know how special they were to her. While her family will miss her terribly, their belief in God's promise to see her again one day will comfort and sustain them.  
On May 14, 1971, Janet married Russell Shopbell, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2019.  Surviving are seven children, her daughter Paula (Bobby) Gill, three grandchildren, granddaughters Heather (Chris) Bahr and Vanessa (Justin) Schmitz and a grandson, with whom she proudly shared a birthday, Cory (Amber) Haldeman, and three great grandchildren, Chase Bahr, Taylor Schmitz, and Scarlett Haldeman.  Her step-children, Roger (Joyce) Shopbell, Ken Shopbell, Peggy (Shopbell) Weaver, Larry Shopbell, Gayle (Shopbell) Hencye and Jodie (Don) Shopbell Frazer and their children and grandchildren who also loved their Grandma tremendously.   Janet is also survived by her sister Judy (John) James, brother Ted Seibert, and sisters-in-law, Sarah (Tom) Seibert and Maxine (George) Shopbell, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Edna Seibert and her brother, Tom.

Due to the rising number of COVID cases, a memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pathways Hospice of Ashland (1171 E. Main St., Ashland OH  44805) or Brethren Care (2000 Center St., Ashland OH  44805).
