Janet Sue (Bell) Barr Obituary

Janet Sue Bell Barr, 84 of Jeromesville passed away on Friday April 12, 2024 at Ohio Health Mansfield


Hospital. She was born on August 22, 1939 to Ray Allen and Glorien Landis Bell. She spent most of


her life in the Rowsburg and Jeromesville area. She loved the outdoors and her pride and joy were her


grandchildren and great grandchildren.


She always tried to greet people with an uplifting smile. She retired from ODNR Division of Soil and


Water and after retirement worked part-time for Ashland County Treasurers office. She loved to


crochet afghans in her spare time. Affectionately known as “Sue” by family and friends, she was a


member of St. Michael Lutheran Church in Mifflin, Ohio and Faith Lutheran in Millersburg, Ohio.


On November 12, 1960 she married her high school sweetheart and life long partner of 60 years,


Donald Frank Barr, who preceded her in death in November 2020. She was also preceded in death by


both parents.


Surviving are 2 sons, Keith (Kim) Barr and Brian (Janel) Barr, four grandchildren, Megan Barr


McMahan of Jeromesville, Joshuah Barr of Jeromesville, Makensey Barr of Chicago, Ill and


Ethan Barr of Akron, along with 2 great grandchildren, Hayden and Hallie.


Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at Fickes Funeral Home


in Jeromesville.


A graveside service will follow at Vermillion Cemetery in Hayesville with Pastor Jeff Scott officiating.
