James Ellis Morris Sr., 87 of Ashland passed away Tuesday April 28. 2026 at his
residence. He was born February 19, 1939 in Ashland County the son of Edward
and Mary Bradfield Morris. Jim was a graduate of Loudonville High School and a
United States Army Veteran. He worked at Myers Pump and Gorman Rupp, before
becoming an avid antique dealer. Jim’s hobby was working with plants and
trees. He donated numerous trees to the Ashland County Parks.
He is survived by four children, James Morris Jr. of Ashland, Tina (Joe) Yenni
of Fitchville, Cathy (Lee) Steigerwalt of Jeromesville and Lora Arcand of Ashland,
6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Jane Buchanan and Doris Roller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife, Shirley Ann Morris, his 2nd wife, Shirley Arlene
Morris, a brother, Jack Morris and two sisters, Ruth Kirkland and Elizabeth Morris.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday May 5, 2026 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Pastor Layton
Broome officiating. Burial will follow in Nankin Cemetery where the Ashland Honor Guard will
conduct military rites.
Friends may call Monday May 4, 2026 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
