James Mencer Obituary

James “Jimmy” Lee Mencer, 84 of Wooster passed away Saturday April 15, 2023 at

Ontario Estates Senior Living. He was born May 3, 1938 in Wayne County the son

of William and Evelyn Flickinger Mencer. Jimmy was a 1956 graduate of Wooster

High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a tester at Akron Brass.

He is survived by his dog and best friend, Buffy, a cousin, Marjorie Fox Elson,

a brother-in-law, John Summerfield Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Janis Summerfield and

a twin brother, Jackie.

Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday April 20, 2023 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville

with John Damron officiating.

Burial will be in Blachleyville Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
