Glenn James Obituary

Glenn M. James, 95, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021, following

a long period of declining health.

He was born January 30, 1926, on the family farm near Moreland to the late Lester M.

and Ruth (Jewell) James. Glenn married the love of his life, Nellie L. Funk, on July 15,

1950 at the home of her aunt and uncle. Nellie passed away on January 7, 2019.

They were both members of Moreland United Methodist Church.

After serving his country in the US Navy during World War II, Glenn held numerous jobs

locally and in Florida.

He subsequently joined Lytle Construction of Wooster where he drove asphalt transport in the summer and

served as a mechanic during the winter. Glenn retired from Lytle Construction in 1989 after 30 years of service.

After retirement, Glenn spent many enjoyable years upgrading his farm, raising sheep and working in the farm

woods, moving into Wooster in 2015.

Surviving is one son, Donald (Roberta) James of Wooster; two granddaughters, Stacy (Chad) Clippinger and Lindsay

Mclaughlin, all of Wooster; four great grandchildren, Kaleb McLaughlin and Parker, Brandt and Jaxon Clippinger. In

addition to his parents and wife of 69 years, Glenn was preceded in death by infant twin brothers, and a great grandson,

Peyton Clippinger.

A private graveside service will be held at Moreland United Methodist Church cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be

announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Moreland United Methodist Church or LifeCare

Hospice of Wooster.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wooster Community Hospital Home Health Care, LifeCare Hospice and
