Glenn Edward Frank, 75, of rural Hayesville, OH passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, August 1, 2023 following a period of declining health. He was the oldest of two sons, born March 21, 1948, in Ashland, OH to John R. and Ruth J. (Houpt) Frank.
He graduated from the second class of Hillsdale High School in 1966 and attended Mansfield Ohio State University. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a draftsman from 1968-1970.
He worked as a draftsman for the former Flxible Bus Company, did location surveys for Fox Surveying, and last worked in the Ashland County Courthouse in the Tax Map Office, retiring in 2014.
Glenn married his high school sweetheart Marilyn E. Stafford on August 22, 1970.
He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, mowing his lawn, gardening, playing computer games, watching old westerns and Hallmark movies, and driving around north central OH. He loved decorating for Christmas but after the Holidays, it was time to put jigsaw puzzles together with Marilyn. He had 45 years of perfect attendance with the Lion’s Club bowling league and was league secretary/treasurer for many years until it was disbanded.
He is survived by his loving wife, and their two children, Sarah (Jim) Shepherd, Ashland, and Scott (Lindsey) Frank, rural Hayesville; 4 grandchildren: Mackenzie (Jon) Selleny Painesville, OH, Carlee and Hayden Young and Dawson Frank (the apple of his eye), all of rural Hayesville; two great grandsons: Elliott and Dominic; mother-in-law, Maxine Stafford, Ashland; sisters-in-law, Bev (Jim) Bouscher, W. Lafayette,OH and Pam (Gary) Crawford, Mansfield, OH: 1 niece and 3 nephews and numerous cousins on his mother’s side of the family; and brother Neil (Karla) Frank, Ashland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, William Stafford and two nephews.
A graveside service for family and close friends was held Friday, August 4, 2023 in Hayesville-Vermillion Cemetery with military honor guard present.
