George Donald Kissel Jr.

George Donald Kissel Jr. 85 of Jeromesville passed away Friday February 28, 2025. He was born June

14, 1939 in Ashland County the son of George and Marsha Durival Kissel Sr. George was a 1957

graduate of Jeromesville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the

Trinity Lutheran Church of Jeromesville and worked at O.D.O.T. as an equipment operator.

George’s main love and passion was working on sprint cars. Along with his father, they owned Kissel

Racing for over 50 years, traveling around Ohio and Indiana.

He is survived by his wife, Joanna Laughery, to whom he was married January 20, 1984.

A memorial service will be 11:30 AM Saturday March 8, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church of

Jeromesville with Pastor Jerry Rhea officiating.

Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 AM saturday at the church before the service.

A luncheon will be held at the church, following the service.
