Eleanor Mae Martin, 84 of rural Ashland passed away Monday September 16, 2024 at Brookwood


Place in Ashland. She was born May 24, 1940 in Ashland County the daughter of Clyde and Lois Piper


Schoonover. She was a 1958 graduate of Ashland High School and a homemaker. Eleanor was a


member of the Trinity Country Church, formerly the Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was


very active. She was also an avid blood donor, donating 20 gallons over her lifetime.


She is survived by two sons, Richard (Betty) Martin of Ashland and Steven (Brandy) Martin of Polk,


10 grandchildren, Meghan (Stephen) Self of Ashland, Amanda (Alex Thompson) Martin of Alliance,


Morgan (Frank) Bertsch of Shaker Heights, Kendra (Brock) Daugherty of Howard, Dakota (Kaley


Hawkins) Martin of Ashland, Troy Martin of Ashland, Cullen Martin of Marietta, Dallas Martin of


Polk, Alicia Ford of Columbus and Joshua (Bridjette) Smith of Annapolis, 10 great grandchildren and


and two sisters, Karen Gibbs of Hayesville and Kay (Howard) Steigerwalt of Ashland.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cliff Martin, three brothers, Paul Schoonover,


Donald Schoonover and Glen Schoonover and a sister, Shirley Benner.


Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday September 21, 2024 at Trinity Country Church, formerly the


Trinity United Methodist Church, with Pastor James Scott officiating. Burial will be in Trinity


Cemetery.


Friends may call Friday September 20, 2024 from 6-8 pm at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville.
