Deb J. (DeMatteis) Slater, 64 of Jeromesville passed away Saturday May 16, 2020 at her home

surrounded by her loving family and beloved pets. Deb was born January 9, 1956 in Canton the

daughter of the late Reno “Scotty” and Lucille “Lou” (Chiurco) Dematteis.

In Deb’s life her unconditional love for her family and beloved pets was what brought joy to her life.

Deb had a passion for cooking, canning and planting her flowers. Deb’s greatest joy was ending her

day with “porch time”, spent with Jeff surrounded by the beauty she held so close to her heart.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents.

Deb is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Jeffrey (Jeff) Slater, daughter, Hanna (Stephanie)

Slater, son, Taylor Slater, granddaugther, Madison, sister, Joni (DeMatteis) Hite, sister-in-law, Jenny

Slater and Barb Steiner, in-laws, John and Elizabeth Ann (Bone) Slater, nephew, Thomas Hite and

cousin, Timmy (Fran) Mastroine.

A celebration of life will be Saturday May 23, 2020 at the Slater residence, 140 Co. Rd. 1975

Jeromesville, starting at 2:00 PM.

Friends may call Friday May 22, 2020 from 4-8 pm at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville. Burial

will be at a later date.
