Dawn Kahl passed away Thursday March 4, 2021 after an extended illness. She was the daughter of R.
Blair and Phyllis Long Kahl, who preceded her in death. Dawn is survived by her brother, Douglas
(Donna) Kahl of Berea, a niece, two nephews, three great nieces, four great nephews and numerous
cousins.
Dawn was born December 15, 1952 in Ashland, OH. She was a 1971 graduate of Ashland High
School, a proud undergraduate of THE OH-IO STATE UNIVERSITY and also received a Masters
Degree from the UNIVERSITY OF AKRON. She was a very proud BUCKEYE and ZIP fan. Dawn
was employed in numerous capacities and ended her career as manager of the Wooster office, what is
now known as the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services before MS set in 1994.
The family would like to thank the ENTIRE STAFF at The Good Shepherd for their patience and care
during her extended stay, “THANK YOU”! Also, a thank you to Pathways Hospice Care during her
final week. Contributions can be made to The Good Shepherd, Pathways Hospice Care and the
Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Pastor Julie Thoms will preside over the family graveside services and interment at Vermillion
Cemetery. Dawn will be buried next to her parents. Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville is assisting
the family with arrangements.
