Chick McCoy, 72, of Ashland, passed away Monday, April 29,
2019 at Life Care Hospice in Wooster. She was born August
11, 1946 in Ashland County, the daughter of Dory and Ginny
Banks and was a 1964 graduate of Hayesville High School.
Chick worked at Ashland University and also was the Executive Assistant to the CEO and President of
Samaritan Regional Health System for 20 years.
She was a member of Saint Michael Lutheran Church in Mifflin and loved her grandchildren,
tending her many flower gardens, cooking, and keeping the house spotlessly.
Chick was giving and loving and the fixer of all things for us. She had the gift of hospitality and
we shall all lose weight now that she's no longer here to feed us. She is missed greatly by all, including
her collie, Jake.
She is survived by her husband, Michael McCoy, to whom she was married February 19, 1965,
three sons, Michael (Chrystal) McCoy of Bloomville, Jeff (Kami) McCoy and Keith McCoy
of Hayesville, seven grand children, Chris, Kaitlyn, Tori, Nick, Trevor, Megan and Damon,
two brothers, Jim (Cheryl) Banks of Copley and Dave (Nancy) of Erie, Pennsylvania, and a sister,
Kathy (Greg) McFarlin of Ashland.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A private family service will be held at a future time.
Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
