Cheryl Irene (Pope) Eagle

Cheryl Irene Eagle, 86, of Jeromesville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday August 21, 2025. She was born August 27, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Helen Elizabeth (Darr) Pope and Leonard Louis Pope.

On May 10, 1980, Cheryl married Ronald Curtis Eagle of Jeromesville, OH. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Cheryl is survived by her son, Mike Ramsier of Sullivan, OH; stepson Brad Eagle (Brenda); stepdaughter Brenda Metcalf (Chuck); grandchildren Ashley Gray, Miranda Guy (Adam), Dustin “Dusty” Metcalf, Matt Metcalf (Mandy), and Megan Metcalf; and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored photographing and spending time with throughout the years. She is also survived by her brother, Bruce Pope.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and three sisters.

Born in Cleveland before moving to Lodi, Cheryl attended school locally and later built her family and life in Jeromesville, Ohio. In retirement, she and Ron enjoyed going to garage sales, selling at flea markets, and attending country music concerts in Nashville and throughout Ohio. Cheryl especially loved Trace Adkins and the joy his music brought into her life.

She will be remembered for her incredible cooking and baking, her sense of humor, her ever-present camera, her loyal love of WNCO and country music, and above all, her devotion to her family.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 6–8 p.m. at Fickes Funeral Home, 84 N High St., Jeromesville, OH 44840.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Cheryl’s memory.
