Charles (Chuck) Edwin Gardner, 70 passed away Thursday September 26, 2024 at OhioHealth
Mansfield Hospital. He was born August 6, 1954 in Ashland the son of William and Ella Lorene Welch
Gardner. He was a graduate of Ashland High School, worked for Gorman Rupp in Bellville, retiring in
2022 and was a member of the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ashland. Chuck enjoyed
attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, working on cars and was known as a man that could fix
anything. He was a true family man that loved his wife, his daughters and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Bolen, to whom he was married November 13, 1976, two
daughters, Hope (Chance) Van Gundy of Columbus, and Faith (Herman) Huffman of Loudonville, four
grandchildren, Saylor (Grayson Kitzen) Lewis, Blaze Van Gundy, Breeze Van Gundy and Grayson
Huffman, a brother, Bill (Linda) Gardner of Ashland, a sister, Judy (Bill) Ichord of Virginia, several
nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and a great great niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday September 30, 2024 at Peace Evangelical Lutheran
Church with Pastor Karen Leddy officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Rowsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12-2 pm Monday at the church before the service.
A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
