Brenda Kay (Baker) Mathes, 63 of Ashland passed away Thursday October 13, 2022 at Crystal Care

Center of Ashland. She was born May 19, 1959 in Memphis, TN the daughter of Harold and Rena

(Murray) Baker. She was a 1977 graduate of Ashland High School and worked as a waitress.

She is survived by two sons, Brandon MacKellar of Williamsburg, VA and Michael (Janice) MacKellar

of Gloucester, VA, a daughter, Hilary Mathes (Geordi Mazzone) of Palmyra, VA, 2 grandchildren,

Alyssa and Jacob MacKellar, her mother, Rena (Lawrence) Gregg of Ashland, two sisters, Heidi (Rick)

Hall of Houston, Texas and Debra (Keith) Wertz of Ashland, and three brothers, Harold (Maria) Baker

of Garland, TX, Todd (Robyn) Baker of Savannah, GA and Shane (Rebecca) Baker of Ashland.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Baker, sister, Kimberly Tharp and a nephew, Lee

Michael Baker.

Services will be 11:00 AM Monday October 17, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Ashland with Pastor

Matt Stollings officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:30-11:00 AM on Monday at the church before the service.
