Betty Louise (Harned) Becker

Betty Louise Becker, 92, of Wooster, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 5th, 2024. She was surrounded by amazing family and friends in her home. She was born to Russell and Josephine Harned (of Hayesville, OH) on December 9, 1931. She married Dempsy D. Becker on June 4th, 1950; he preceded her in death in July 2012.

Those who knew Betty, knew of her generous heart, forgiving nature, and desire to serve. You were always greeted with a cup of coffee and a smile at the Becker home. There wasn’t a fussy baby that Betty couldn’t rock to sleep, some called her the baby whisperer. Until the end, she enjoyed visits from family and friends, sharing her spunky spirit and conversation. Rarely, a day went by that there weren’t 10-12 people gathered at her home.

Her family was very important to her. She leaves the legacy of a loving family who will continue to serve as a tribute to the life she built. She is survived by her children, Dan (Cheryl) Becker, Becky Benninger, Joyce (Jeff) Grant, Jane (Nick) Biniker, and Dave (Cheryl) Becker. 10 Grandchildren: Chad (Sarah), Chris (Amy), Jackie (Brett), Stacie (Doug), Dave (Remiko), Candace, Abby (Alexander), Samantha (John), Alex (Brooke), Nicholas (Emilie). 17 Great-Grandchildren: Trystan (Peyton), Mykenzie (Daniel), Caydence, Tyler, Jacob, Emma, Carter, Deacon, Porter, Jack, Henry, Elsie, Tommy, Oliver, Ezra, Annabelle, and Eleanor. 1 Great-Great-Grandchild, Elsie Jane. Her sister, Jone, and brother, Frank.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dempsy; son, Richard Benninger; and brothers, Russell, Bill, Howard, and Bruce Harned.

She was a member of the Church of the Savior, 480 Fry Rd, Wooster. Visitation hours will be held Saturday, March 9th from 12-2 pm, with service to follow.
