Barbara Janette (Freeborn) Colbow, 68 of Loudonville Ohio, passed away Saturday
August 15th 2020 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Barb was
born April 5th, 1952 in Morristown New Jersey to Natalie and Andrew Freeborn.
She grew up in Hayesville Ohio where she graduated in 1970 from Hillsdale High
School and then went on to obtain her Bachelors in Education from The Ohio State
University in 1974. Later, she went on to gain her LPN lisencure and retired from
the American Red Cross after 17 years. Barb married her loving husband, Michael
Colbow, in 1991 and they proceeded to reside in Loudonville for the majority of
their 29 years together. Barb enjoyed many hobbies and activities including
photography and especially singing. She was a regular participant of the Hayesville
Follies, a long time member of the Community Singers and active member of
Mohicanville Community Church where she loved singing in the church chior for
over 50 years and served as choir director for five. She is survived by her loving
huband of 29 years Michael Colbow, her daughter and son in law Laura (Obrecht)
and Shawn Davis, her two adoring granddaughters Amelia (8) and Penelope (7)
Davis, brother Don (Cheryl) Freeborn, and sisters Nancy (Chuck) Pierce and Sue
(Ron) Casner. Calling hours will be held at Fickes Funeral Home, Jeromesville Ohio,
Saturday August 22nd from 10am-Noon proceeded by a graveside service at
Vermilion Cemetery, Hayesville Ohio, beginnning at 12:30pm. The family has asked
that in-lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mohicanville Community Church
or the Ohio Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
