William Austin Gault Sr., 91 of Ashland passed away Tuesday March 24, 2020 at UH Samaritan

Medical Center. He was born August 5, 1928 in Ashland the son of George and Irma Humrichouser

Gault.

Bill was employed with Mansfield Tire as well as being a part-time farmer before finally retiring from

Montgomery Township. An avid fisherman, Bill spent many hours with his fishing buddies on Lake

Erie. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events. He

was a member of the Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church.

Bill and his wife, Betty Coburn Gault were married November 12, 1963. He is survived by daughter

Linda Briggs of Ashland, daughter Laura (Chris) Stewart of Ashland, daughter-in-law Tabatha Gault of

Columbus, 6 grandchildren: Stacey (Scott) Dillard, Michelle (Johnny) Lima, Rebecca

Gault, Meghan (Mac) Coe, Caitlin Gault and Olivia Stewart, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great great

granddaughter, a sister Georganne (Bob) Stevenson of Gallipolis and many loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, William A. Gault Jr. and two sisters, Kay McCarty and Mary

Hancock.

Private services for Bill were held March 28, 2020 at Fickes Funeral Home. Burial was in Dickey

Cemetery.
