Obituary

Wanda Madeline Jarvis, 92 of Ashland died Wednesday

February 29, 2012 at Brethren Care in Ashland.

She was born March 31, 1919 in Walton, West Virginia

the daughter of Jack and Alice Short

Miller.  She was a homemaker and was well known by her

family as being a beautiful seamstress.  Wanda was a longtime

volunteer at Marion General Hospital and was a member

of the First Christian Church in Marion.  Wanda was 1 of seven

children and at the age of 7, her parents died within 24 hours of

each other, leaving Wanda and two of her sisters orphans.

At the age of 18, Wanda moved to Akron where she met and married

her husband of 59 years, Clarence Jarvis.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Debi (Mark) Thompson,

Doug Hartong, Janet Jarvis, Walter Jarvis, Norma Lindeman,

Merle (Elouise) Jarvis and Robert Jarvis, and several great

nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Jarvis,

a special nephew, James Jarvis and a nephew, Larry Jarvis.

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday March 3, 2012 at Fickes Funeral

Home in Jeromesville with Pastor Calvin Houser officiating.

Burial will be in Vermillion Cemetery at Hayesville.  Friends

may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home

on Saturday.
