Walter Paul Steigerwalt, 84 of rural Ashland, died
Tuesday July 12, 2011 at his residence.  He was born August 26, 1926
in Ashland Co. the son of George Washington and Floy Estella Witmer
Steigerwalt.  He was a 1945 graduate of Ashland High School and a farmer all his life.
Walter had been on the Board of the Ashland Equity, a Montgomery Twp. Trustee
and a member of the Ashland Dickey Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Weaver Steigerwalt, to whom he was
married September 27, 1947, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and
Doyle Hoverstock and Diana and Mark Crist all of Ashland, 4 grandchildren,
Tim (Cindy) Crist, Shannon (Asheley) Crist, Jan (Dr. Steve) Rogers,
and Pastor Philip (Andrea) Hoverstock, 8 great grandchildren, and two brothers,
Karl C. Steigerwalt of Ashland and Ray E. Steigerwalt of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Verna Swain.
Services will be 2:00 PM Friday July 15, 2011 at the Ashland Dickey
Church of the Brethren with Pastors Tom Zuercher and Philip Hoverstock
officiating.  Burial will be in the Dickey Cemetery.  Friends may call
from Noon – 2:00 pm at the church before the service.
