Vera May Hileman, 92 passed away peacefully with family at

Hospice House in Ashland on her birthday Saturday September

14, 2013.  She was born September 14, 1921 in Wayne Co.

the daughter of William and Clara Worst Beck.  Living in Ashland

County after age 5, she graduated from Polk High School in 1939.

On September 25, 1939 she married Herman H. Hileman in

Friendship, OH and was married for 59 years.  She worked hard

on the dairy farm, sold eggs and Watkins products.  She was

involved in the Ashland Co. Cattlemans Association, Farm Bureau,

Lions, Red Haw Church and also worked over 50 years for the Perry

Twp. election board.  She enjoyed cooking, family, playing cards,

mowing yard and traveling.  She planned several trips for and belonged

to the Perry Twp. Homemakers and in younger years belonged to the

Sullivan Series Club.  She also worked for the census and directory in

the county.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty Thomas of Ashland,  2 sons, Norman

(Ann) Hileman and Harold Hileman, all of Polk, 6 grandchildren, Anita, Barb,

Sondra, Julie, Jacob and Abby, 2 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren

and 2 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman Hileman in 1998

and a grandson, Leonard Brandt in 2005.

Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday September 19, 2013 at Fickes

Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Pastor Shaun Green officiating.

Burial will be in Red Haw Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday September 18, 2013 from 6-8 pm at the

funeral home.
