Traci Lynn "Nebby" Nebergall, 50, of Hayesville, died 2/14/2017 in Columbus, due to brain injury from uncontrolled seizures.

Born 9/26/1966 in Ashland to James and Nancy Nebergall, Traci was the oldest of six: Cynthia, her stillborn twin who she has waited to reunite with for 50 years, and brothers Calvin, David, Doug, and Derrick. She succeeded in bossing her brothers around until they outgrew her, but they never did overtake her in attitude.

She grew up roaming the streets of Hayesville, fast friends with everyone she met. As a teenager, she worked at Beattie's market (although she may have done more socializing than working). She was also a long-time volunteer for Safe Haven (formerly Ashland Rape Crisis), advocating and providing emotional support to survivors of violence, via crisis phone line and in person in the hospital ER.

Saturdays found her at the ball park, all summer every summer. She played right field for the Hillsdale Falcons softball team, including a trip to the state semi-finals in 1984, her senior year. She also played point guard for the Falcons basketball team from 1981-1984. Immediately following high school, she began to coach softball and t-ball in the Hayesville Youth League, and continued to the present. She also held officer roles for several years, ending as League President – a position she still held when she died. She had a unique ability to find each player's talents and coach "her kids" through not just ball games, but life. She corrected dropped-shoulder swings and drooping confidence. She encouraged aggressive base running and unwavering bravery. She expected no more than she gave: 100% effort, every time. Kendig Field will never be the same.

In 2007, she married her wife, Annie Nebergall. They shared a decade of adventure, laughter, love, and a bond stronger than anyone could put into words. Together they were raising three earthbound children, Dani, Cooper, and Carson, who adored their Mommy and happily joined in her schemes, and one angel baby, Rebecca.

Any sendoff would not be complete without mentioning her longtime best friend Lori Shoudt. Along with other "sisterchicks" Kristy Nebergall, Jen Nebergall, Amy Heller, and Merri Pycraft, they faced many adventures, loves, and tragedies together over the years. Few are privileged to have such beloved sisters.

Since 2014 she has poured boundless energy into her lifelong dream, the recently founded Meraki Hill Farm. She loved being out in the barn with her sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and Jesse, the one-eyed pony. She also mastered the art of swearing while being splattered with hot maple sap cooking over a homemade evaporator.

Traci lived nonstop; fully engaged and never looking back. Her wisdom and unbeatable sense of humor impacted the lives of many. Whether it was her dancing and singing on the hood of her car Mertal, or twerking in a bookstore parking lot, memories of her antics keep us laughing through our tears.

She acknowledged each day as a gift, and used each one to give back to those around her. The world is better for her having lived. We are better for having known her. Though her life may have ended too soon, it was a life complete in so many ways.

She is survived by her wife, Annie Nebergall of Hayesville; children Dani, Cooper, and Carson Nebergall (all of the home); mother Nancy Nebergall of Hayesville; brothers Calvin (Clark) Nebergall of Columbus, David (Kristy) Nebergall and Douglas (Jen) Nebergall of Hayesville, and Derrick Nebergall of Jeromesville; chosen sisters Lori Shoudt of Hayesville and Merri (Jeff) Pycraft of Wooster; nieces and nephews Taylor Nebergall of Loudonville, Joey, Jessica, Luke, and Sara Nebergall and Zack Shoudt of Hayesville, Kaleb and Kyle Shoudt of Ashland, Josh, Ethan, and Juli Pycraft of Wooster, and many extended family, community, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father Jim Nebergall, twin sister Cynthia, infant daughter Rebecca, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Service of Thanksgiving for Traci's Life will be held on Saturday 2/25/17 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster at 2:00p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Kevan S Franklin presiding (although, if you know Traci at all, you know she won't let it start on time).  We would really like to share some of your best memories of Traci at this service. Friends may call on Friday 2/24/17 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville, from 3pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm, or at the church one hour before the service. Ball equipment donations will also be accepted at calling hours, as we would love to pass on her passion for sports to kids in need.
