Terry Lee Swaisgood, 65 of rural Polk died Wednesday August 17, 2011
as a result of an accident. He was born October 5, 1945 in Ashland
the son of Raymond E. and Pauline Wise Swaisgood. He was
a 1963 graduate of Ashland High School and was a Diary Farmer
for over 40 years. Terry was a Marine Veteran of the Vietnam
Conflict and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
He was a member and past President of Ashland Farm Bureau,
a member of the Ashland FFA Alumni, and the Rowsburg Lions Club.
Mr. Swaisgood served on the FSA County Committee in many
capacities for 25 years, the Agrimark Board for 13 years, was a
4-H Advisor for Wiggletown boys and worked 4 ½ years at Town & Country-Sterling
Branch.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Light Swaisgood, to whom he was
married March 30, 1968, a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sarah
Swaisgood of Malta, NY, a daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Clint
Lozier of Billings, Montana, 5 grandchildren, Jack, Max and Claire
Swaisgood and Cole and Lillie Anna Lozier, two sisters, Barb
Swaisgood of Polk and Becky Wisdom of Loveland, CO, a brother,
Dan Swaisgood of Polk and a step-sister, Sarah Studebaker of
Bethel, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Tamara
Lissa and Trevin Lee Swaisgood.
Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday August 20, 2011 at Trinity United
Methodist Church with Pastor Roger Hayes officiating. Burial will be
in Trinity Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the
Ashland Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call Friday August 19, 2011 at
Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville from 6-9 pm, followed with a memorial
service by the Rowsburg Lions Club.
