Susan Andrea Hubacher joined her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 8, 2019. She was born April 25,1949 in Cleveland, Ohio to Rosemary and Andrew Gurba. She graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree from Ohio University where she met her best friend and love of her life, Donald Lee Hubacher. They were married on June 12, 1971. They had three children, Sadie (Brad) Smith, Jessie (David) Vesper, and Josh (Bernadette) Hubacher, all of Ashland. Sue was the proudest and most loving grandma of nine grandchildren, Owen, Wyatt, Mason & Chloe Smith, Maggie & Max Vesper, and Liam, Ava & Lucas Hubacher.

Her family is a beautiful testimony to her life well-lived as a faithful servant to Christ. Sue & Don resided outside of Jeromesville, Ohio where Susan was a freelance artist and owner of Chestnut Run Artists, which she ran with her husband. In addition, she was an art teacher at the Ashland Christian School for 28 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her humble and graceful spirit. Above all, her faithful walk with Jesus was her highest priority and the greatest love of her life.

She is survived by her husband Don, of 48 years, children and grandchildren; her sister Lynne Hammer of Lexington NC; her mother-in-law, Margaret Ann Hubacher of Smithville as well as a large extended family.

Family and friends may share in the joy of her presence in Heaven by visiting Ashland Grace Church, 1144 West Main St Ashland OH 44805, where she was a member, Friday, August 16 from 11-1:00 with a celebration of life service beginning at 1:00pm with Pastor Dan Allan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to The Ashland Care Pregnancy Center where Susan joyfully volunteered her time.

Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
