Stanton Atterholt, 90, retired farmer and FE Myers (11 years) and Hydromatic (22 years) pump builder, passed away January 15, 2016, at Colonial Manor of Loudonville.  He was born October 7, 1925 at home in rural Jeromesville to Edgar Leo and Golda (Brubaker) Atterholt.  Stanton farmed most of his life, first on his parents' farm in Mohican Township which is now owned by his grandson Mike Atterholt.  In 1956, Stanton purchased his own 80 acre farm in Lake township where he farmed into his retirement years before finally selling the farm in 2009 to his two grandsons, Aaron and Mike Atterholt.
In 1949 Stanton married Evelyn (Hartwig) who survives him. They have five children: Carol (Gary) Wilson,  Don (Nancy) Atterholt,  Daryl (Kathy) Atterholt of Loudonville; Sue (Jim) Shellhaas of Solon; Duane (Kim) Atterholt of Mansfield.  Stanton is survived by eleven grandchildren, and one step granddaughter:  Ryan (Renee) Twining, Steve Twining, Aaron (Mandy) Atterholt, Mike (Mandy) Atterholt, Nathan (Amy) Atterholt, Nick Atterholt, Alison (Brendan) Haggerty, Brian Shellhaas, Mekenna, Brynlee, and Marisah Atterholt, and Julie Wilson.     He is survived by eleven great grandchildren, and one step great granddaughter: Riley, Reed, and Roland Twining, Shane, Russell, Lillian, and Nelle Twining, Claire and Natalie Atterholt, Maci and Kalli Atterholt, and Felicia Wilson. Stanton is also survived by his sister Lillian Raubenolt of Jeromesville, and his brother Paul (Joy) Atterholt of Arizona.
In addition to his parents, Stanton was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton of Degraff and Dwight of Wooster.
Stanton was an avid card player, particularly euchre, at the Legion, church Fun night and with family members.  He dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was active in his lifetime church, Mohicanville Community Church, serving many years on the church Consistory board,  was involved with Couples Bible Study, and faithfully served as church usher.
The funeral service will be held at Mohicanville Community Church, 343 State Route 95, Loudonville, Oh, 44842, on Wednesday, January 20, at 11:00 am with Pastor Greg Rowan officiating.
Calling hours, for friends and family who loved Stanton, will be held at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville, Tuesday, January 19, from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.  Memorial gifts may be made to Mohicanville Community Church or the Gideons.  Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery in Lake Township.
