Shirley Ruth Carpenter, 72 of rural Jeromesville died Wednesday September 21, 2011

at The Good Shepherd.  She was born November 5, 1938 in Mineral Wells, W. VA.

the daughter of Guy G. and Edith Durenburger Greathouse.  She was a homemaker

and member of the Ashland Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Watson Carpenter, to whom she was married March

24, 1957, four sons, Dennon Carpenter of Fairview Park, Watson Carpenter Jr. of

Mineral Wells, W. VA., Robert Carpenter of Jeromesville, Kenneth Carpenter of

Mineral Wells, W. VA., a daughter, Alecia Harper of Ashland, 6 grandchildren,

8 great grandchildren, and a sister, Jeannie Ramsey of Mineral Wells, W. VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Robert Carpenter Jr.

3 brothers, Donald, Frank and Robert Greathouse and a sister, Dorothy Carpenter.

Services will be 11:30 AM Saturday September 24, 2011 at Ashland Church of

Christ with Minister Jeff Slater officiating.  Burial will be in Jeromesville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM on Saturday before the service.
