Mrs. Shirley Carpenter 72 of Ashland, Oh and of Mansfield, Oh,

went home to be with the lord on October 21, 2012 @ 2:25am after

a short illness,  she passed at the Mifflin Care Center on Crider rd.

She was preceded in death by her parents: John Collen and Ladonna

Gregg Cross, her brother, Lawrence Cross, and her sister, Phyllis Cross Williams.

Shirley is survived by her lifelong companion, of 35 years, Jerry H. Elliott , an only

son, Jeffrey R. Carpenter(Nancy Perkins) of Mansfield, OH, 2 step grandsons and 1

step granddaughter of Logan, WV, 4 nephews, 2 nieces, many great nieces and

nephews and many many friends.

Shirley was a member of the Church of God of Ashland, Oh. She worked at Purolato

Courier, Glasgow's, Meyers Cleaners, and Jan's upholstery. She showed horses for

many years at the Ashland County Fair, was a 4-H adviser, and bred and raised

Pomeranian and also Shelties (miniature collies). She was the beloved mother of the

part owner of J & J Custom Towing of Mansfield.

Memorial services will be conducted at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville, Oh on

Monday, October 29, 2012 from 4pm-6pm.
