Obituary

Ruth Elizabeth (Hart) Keets, 89 went to be with her Lord and beloved Bill on July 4, 2017.
She was born December 15, 1927 in Ashland to Harold & Maude (Roberts) Hart.
Ruth married William H. Keets on August 20, 1948, starting a life-time of farming together
at Dr. Martin farm in Ashland.  Later, buying their own farm south of Ashland to dairy farm until 1985.
Ruth worked alongside Bill in farming and raising five children.  Later after retiring
from farming she worked at Crest Cleaners for 25 years in alterations and sewing.
Ruth continued with alterations and sewing for people until three weeks before
her death.  She was a friend to everyone, always ready to do for others.
Ruth was an independent and very hardworking lady.  She loved all kinds of
sports, playing softball in her youth, and her beloved Cleveland Indians.  Ruth
always had something baked to give to vistors including pies and her famous
no-bake cookies.
Ruth was a member of the Stone Lutheran Church being active on church council,
women's work ministry and church functions.  Ruth was given in her's and Bill's
honor a Lifetime Achievement Award for their contribution to the Ashland County
Fair in September 2016.  She could be seen riding on a cart with Bill on trail rides
and Ashland Co. fair classes with their beloved Halfinger ponies.
Ruth is survived by five children, Martin (Deb) Keets of Jeromesville, Marcia (Donald)
Puster, Beth (Dale) Barr, of Ashland, Robert (Ellen) Keets of Ashland and Sarah (Ken) Hastings
of Red Haw.  She had eleven grandchildren, Brian, Chad, Julie, Cindy, Matt, Daniel,
Laura, Kerri, Katie, Stacy and Ben, 20 great-grandchildren, a sister, Barbara H. Hart
of Ashland and two brothers, Charles R. Hart of Cottonwood, AZ and Gerald E. Hart
of Attlebora, MA.
She was preceded in death by spouse William on Jan. 12, 2011, a brother, H. Wayne
Hart, child sister, Marjorie L. Hart and her parents.
Services will be 11:00 AM Friday July 7, 2017 at Stone Lutheran Church 940 Co. Rd.
1754 Ashland with Pastors Rebecca Rossow and Richard Beal officiating.  Burial
will be in Dickey Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday July 6, 2017 from 6-9 pm
at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville or one hour prior to the service at the church
on Friday.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Stone
Lutheran Church 940 Co. Rd. 1754 Ashland, OH 44805 or Ashland Co. Agricultural
Society, 2042 Claremont Ave. Ashland, OH 44805.
