Robert William Gibbs, 78 of rural Hayesville died Thursday March 16, 2017 at Wooster Community Hospital.  He was born April 23, 1938 in Ashland Co. the son of Floyd L. and Esther Campbell Gibbs Sr.  He graduated from Ashland High School and was a member of the Jeromesville Christian Church.  He worked at F.E. Myers for 42 years.  Bob loved the Cleveland Indians, Western Movies, and helping area farmers.  He never knew a stranger and loved spending time with family.
He will be missed by his wife, Karen Schoonover Gibbs to whom he was married February 18, 1961, four daughters, Lori (Steve) Allenbaugh of Hayesville, Sandy (Bruce) Swaisgood of Polk, Susie (Mark) Hynek of Ashland and Lisa (Matt) Egner of Columbus, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a sister, Cheryl Sisinger of Ashland and a brother, Floyd (Marty) Gibbs Jr. of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Janet Gibbs and a brother, James Flanagan.
Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday March 22, 2017 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Pastors Keith Winn and John Collins officiating.  Burial will be in Jeromesville Cemetery.  Friends may call Tuesday March 21, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
