Robert Elliston, 94 died Sunday April 22, 2012 at Brethren Care.

He was born February 26, 1918 to Clarance C. and Esther L. (Bower)

Elliston in rural Creston, OH.  Robert graduated from Creston High

School in 1936 and worked as a mechanic in a Ford Garage.  He was

drafted into the Army Feb. 3, 1941.  He was assigned to the 37th

Medical Division World War II.  He served two years in the South Pacific Theater,

Fiji Islands, Guadalcanal, New Georgia and Bougainville and was

discharged in September of 1945.

He was married August 21, 1944 to Charlene Outward who is deceased.

He was a member of the First Christian Church and D.A.V.

Robert farmed and hauled limestone and gravel for forty years, retiring

at the age of seventy-seven.

Robert and Charlene enjoyed traveling thru the states and had also

visited Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain and Puerto

Rico.

He is survived by two brothers, Rex and John Elliston, a sister,

Jane Culbertson, special cousins, David and Nancy McIlvaine,

special neighbors, Tim and Amy Andress and several nieces,

nephews and cousins.

Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday April 24, 2012 at Fickes Funeral Home

in Jeromesville with Chaplain Don Earlenbaugh officiating.

Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at

the funeral home.
