Obituary

Paul William Dennis, 101 of rural Ashland passed away at home on Sunday, December 4, 2022. He


was born at his home north of Loudonville, Ohio to Charles F. and Ida Grace (Spreng) Dennis on


January 23, 1921. Paul graduated from Loudonville High School in 1938. After graduation he worked


at Loudonville Farmers Equity. He was a lifelong farmer also doing custom farming and carpentry. He


was a volunteer of the Hayesville-Vermillion Fire Department for many years. Paul met the love of his


life, Adelene "Addie" Remy at a dance at Norris Hall in rural Butler, Ohio and were married September


12, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in Loudonville, Ohio. Paul and Addie operated a grain and dairy


farm spending countless hours milking and working on the farm, eventually converting to beef. Paul


was a devoted farmer baling and unloading hay until the age of 98. He even climbed the silo twice a


day until the age of 95. One of his greatest joys in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren


and any other babies, human or animal he could get his hands on. Paul had a one of a kind sense of


humor that was with him until his last days. He was always ready for a good laugh whether at his


expense or yours, but usually yours! Paul lived and saw many things in his 100+ years of life, he has


been a blessing to his family and friends, he was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.


Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, his siblings, daughter Marcia Louise Wagoner,


son Roger Paul Dennis, grandson Clay Carl Bicker.


Paul is survived by his two daughters Karen (Carl) Bicker of Jeromesville, and Amy (James) Pickering


of Ashland, and son in law Robert Wagoner of Johnstown; 9 grandchildren - Stacy Wagoner, Matthew


(Amanda) Wagoner, Lisa Bicker, Paul Bicker, Nolan Bicker, Bryan (Calysia) Pickering, Ashley


Pickering (Travis Arnold), Julie (Steve) Coblentz, Eric Pickering; 10 great grandchildren - William & Zachary


Wagoner, Joslyn, Gage & Aubrey Bicker, Alysia Pickering, Braylen Vogler & Colt Arnold, Leighton & Levi Coblentz.


Friends and Family may call on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 11-12pm at Fickes Funeral Home


in Jeromesville, Ohio.
