Nancy L. Koon, age 73 of Ashland passed away on April 26th at MedCentral Health after a long illness. She was born July 31st, 1947 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  Daughter of Joe & Martha
Wilhelm of Lexington, Ohio. Nancy married John A. Koon January 23, 1970 and gave birth to her only child Jennifer September 22, 1976.

Nancy worked as the Bakery Manager at Cornell's IGA in Shelby, Ohio. In her spare time she enjoyed baking Wedding Cakes and catering events. Nancy lived her life through simple pleasures by spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored, traveling to Florida every year with her Husband John and spending time and laughing with her daughter Jennifer, as well as chatting with family and friends. Nancy's family was the most important thing to her and she was loved by everyone that knew her.

It would be wrong to say that Nancy lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was she fought hard when anyone else would have broken, Nancy stayed strong. Through her we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.

Nancy is survived by her husband John, daughter Jennifer, grandaughter Alexys, grandson Liam and sister Nicki (Fla.)

A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Judes Hospital.

Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
