Maxine Hinton, 83 of rural Wooster passed away Saturday June 11, 2011 at Hospice House in Ashland. She was born October 31, 1927 in Wayne Co. to Paul and Marcia Foss Funk.
She was a graduate of Chester High School and had been employed at the Gruter Foundation in New Pittsburg. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in New Pittsburg and had been a member of The New Pittsburg Fire Department Ladies Auxillary, Faith Circle of St. Peter Lutheran Church and Perry Twp. Homemakers Club.
She is survived by two sons, Gerald (Shirley) Hinton of Wooster and Lonnie (Pam) Hinton of Ashland, a daughter, Joan (Jay) Franks of Wooster, two brothers, Larry (Joann) Funk and Wayne (Rose) Funk all of rural Wooster, three sisters, Polly (John) Sloan of Jeromesville, Shirley Gilbert and Sue (Bill) Selvage all of rural Wooster, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several step children and step grandchildren.
Services will be 12:00 PM Noon Wednesday June 15, 2011 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Pastor Mel Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Reedsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM - Noon before the service on Wednesday.
