Matthew Clarke Banks Jr., 83 of Jeromesville died Tuesday
October 16, 2012 at his home. He was born July 25th 1929
in New Philadelphia the son of Matthew Clarke and Katherine
Lucille Rausch Banks Sr. He was a 1948 graduate of
Sugarcreek-Shanesville High School. He moved to Jeromesville
in 1950, became a farmer and in later years drove truck for
Larry Enderle. He was a member of Mohicanville Community
Church and along with his wife, Shirley were foster parents for
20 years. Matt followed local men's fastpitch softball across
the country and was an avid bowler. He collected hats and bowling balls.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Glorene Becker Banks to whom
he was married December 3, 1951 at Mohicanville, three sons,
Eric (Judie) Banks of Jeromesville, Jeff (Kathy) Banks of Ashland
and Michael Banks of Columbus, two daughters, Kathy (Victor)
Robison of Mohicanville, and Beryl (Jim) Klingel of Wooster,
15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, his step-mother,
Lucille Banks of Ashland, two sisters, Margaret Hamsher of Dover
and Lois Vahdati-Bana of Hilliard and a step-sister, Darlene (Jim)
Anderson of Jeromesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Doran Banks on
November 11, 2001, an infant sister, Carol Banks, two sisters
Mary Rice and Barbara Jane Keener, and a brother, Bob Banks.
Memorial services will be 4:30 PM Sunday October 21, 2012 at
Mohicanville Community Church with Pastor Mike Nicholson officiating.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 pm at the church before the service on
Sunday.

Drive Ashland, OH 44805 or the Jeromesville Fire Department 1 North
Street Jeromesville, OH 44840.
Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
