Mary Eloise McKinley, 72 of Ashland died Tuesday May 10, 2016 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, following several long illnesses. She was born January 30, 1944 in Sandusky the daughter of John Boalt and Nettie Glum Strong. She was a resident of the Ashland area most of her life and graduated from Ashland High School in 1962. On June 6, 1964 she married the love of her life, John Charles McKinley at the First United Methodist Church in Ashland , who preceded her in death in 1999. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ashland and enjoyed miniature dollhouses, her dog Mocha and was a lifetime fan of the Cleveland Indians.
She is survived by 2 sons, Thomas H. (Karen) McKinley of Philadelphia, PA and Tim of Ashland, 3 brothers, Chuck Strong of Newport, TN, Clair Strong of Ontario and Jim (Bonnie) Strong of Tennessee, 2 sisters-in-law, Doris Strong of Ashland and Jeannette Strong of Shelby, 2 grandchildren, Matt McKinley and Ally McKinley, numerous nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Wilma McKinley of Jeromesville and a special cousin, JoAnn Klerfielder.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Allen Strong and Glenn Strong and 3 sisters, Juanita Strong, Rachael Kameri and Iantha Coffman.
Private services for family and close friends will be 2:00 PM Saturday May 14, 2016 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville. Burial will be in Jeromesville Cemetery.
