Lowell Beyeler, 86, of Polk died peacefully Thursday, Sept 7, at University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland after a brief illness. He married Shirley Mack Nommay in May 6,1984. She survives.
Lowell was born in Orrville, the fourth of 13 children to Edna and Lester Beyeler. He grew up on a dairy farm outside of Wooster, graduating from Creston High School and Hesston College.  He worked as a Dairy Herd Improvement Association Supervisor and District Manager for over 40 years, retiring in 1993.
Lowell and Shirley were members of Polk Church of Christ, where Lowell served as an Elder and taught Sunday School for years.  He had also been a member of Crownhill Mennonite.  He always felt very blessed to have a wonderful church family, great neighbors and wonderful family.
Lowell had many hobbies in his retirement years. He loved tending to his flower gardens and enjoyed growing unusual vegetables. He was an avid walker, loved auctions and was always up for a spontaneous day trip. He loved music and concerts of all genres.
Having accepted Christ at the age of 12, Lowell daily spent time pouring over his well marked Bible, ever learning more about the Savior he loved and sought to emulate. His true legacy was one of empathy and compassion, honesty and integrity, conscientious in all that he did.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 14, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Polk Church of Christ. Funeral services will follow.
Lowell is survived by five sisters: Esther, (Larry) Gray, of Spring Valley, Ca., Elizabeth Jacobs, Goshen, In., Eunice Brenneman, Goshen, Inc., Eloise, (Robert) Hostetler, Harrisonburg, Va., and Elaine, (Wayne) Hershberger, Tyron, Pa., five brothers, Milton, (Jeanette), Wooster, Robert, (Julia), Orrville, Ivan, (Ramona), Leo, Inc., Les (Delores), Massillon, and Marion, (Jane), of Dalton and many nieces and nephews. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Glenard and Eugene James.
Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville assisted the family with arrangements.
